February happenings

This month got off to a good start when I had the honor of pinning Justin with his submarine warfare insignia.  I'm very proud of him, as I know he worked very hard to earn all those qualifications.  His parents sent some 14 karat gold dolphins that I had been hiding in the closet in anticipation of this!  They look pretty dang good.

The following week, we got a LOT of snow.  The dogs loved it!

Valentine's day this year went much better than last year.  No phone calls bearing news of imminent deployment!  In addition to sending flowers and chocolates to my work, Justin gave me some new lenses for my camera.  I immediately experimented with the macro lens as we continued our cooking tradition.  Justin made lobster ravioli in a champagne sauce, and I made macerated berries with limoncello mascarpone cream.  I had to use up that extra heavy cream, so naturally we had to have some crème brûlée too!;)
