Before moving to a new home it's always a good idea to check out the neighborhood. Before moving to Boston, I checked out the
P.C. websites whose favorite adjective for the South End seems to be
vibrant. What do they mean by vibrant? Well. I'll let this map I've assembled do the talking. Blue pointers are homeless shelters, red are halfway houses and yellow are government housing projects. This isn't all of them, just the smattering I was able to find through observation and a lot of research. Can you find the little sunshine in there? That's my apartment.
I will surely miss the second-hand smoke and cat calls every time I walk out the door, but we're off to the lovely suburb of Melrose. We're exchanging the parking tickets and other automobile decor for pond views and coffee shops. Stay tuned for more about Melrose!
