Drinking from the fire hose

Well, my starry-eyed love of med school didn't last long, but I knew it wouldn't and embraced it while it did.  The second week of med school came the flood of information, and the third week was spent studying for our first exam.  I passed the first exam!  The fourth week I relaxed a bit too much, and decided to try a new study system.  Many of my classmates watch the recorded lecture videos (which can be played at your pace - double speed if that's the case) instead of attending lectures.  I thought that sounded like a great way to be more efficient with my time, but instead I just felt extremely behind by doing that.  So the fifth week I spent trying to catch up and now we're on week 6 and the final exams for the first module are eminent!  I still enjoy med school, but the fire hose of information is making sure that I balance that excitement with plenty of freaking out.

My life doesn't come with pictures anymore, I've resorted to .GIFs to describe my life
At the end of this past week we had elections for class officers.  For some reason I thought it would be a good idea to run for the class academic representative, and I won!  I have never been any good at popularity contests, but my peers elected me!  oh wait... maybe being elected dork-in-chief isn't popularity... Anyways, I don't know what I have gotten myself into, but hopefully the N-A-V-Y acronym doesn't ring true in this case (Never Again Volunteer Yourself).  I think the job will entail a lot of extra responsibilities, but at the same time I will get to know the faculty, be forced to stay on top of my studies and hopefully help my classmates!
